In Future Classroom Lab nothing is "set in stone", quite the contrary "everything has wheels".

In Future Classroom Lab our goal is to explore how technology can challenge the pedagogical praxis in schools and help develop new teaching and learning environments. We call our self an experimental learning laboratory, because we together with pupils, teachers, pedagogues and school administration explore how we can develop new and creative ways to learn and teach for the future

Future Classroom Lab (FCL) is a part of the European Schoolnet, which is in Denmark overseen by Educational Resource Centre (CFU) and the department of didactics and digitization. Our vision is to find new ways to understand, integrate and work with technology in a teaching and learning context.

Building capacity for the school of the future

A laboratory with room for curiosity and development /conception

In the future classroom laboratory, every part of the school’s faculty and staff is invited to work with and within the experimental leaning space that is FCL, with a collection of digital educational material and technology. The faculty will work with our consultants who all have a background in education, to inspire new and creative ways of leaning and teaching to bring back to the schools

In FCL “nothing is set in stone”, quite the contrary “everything has wheels” this is indicative of our goal which to inspire teachers and students alike to approach every situation and problem with an experimental and critical mindset that allows them to later experiment on their own

Building capacity for the school of the future

In the School of the Future, we think it is crucial for pupils to acquire 21st-century skills and focus on critical thinking, creativity, communication and collaboration. In FCL we focus on developing more dynamic student and teacher positions that better allow children and adults to learn from and with each other. We also know that having tried the technology and the didactic opportunities that it brings can make a big difference for you as an educator when you have to support your pupils in understanding, innovating, creating and developing technology. Our laboratory gives able opportunity to test yourself and the technologies, while our consultants are ready to provide inspiration and advice on the capacity needed to develop the future learning environments in schools today.

    What courses does FCL offer?

We in FCL collaborate with teachers, educators and leaders as well as municipal administrations across Denmark and in other countries. A course at FCL can vary greatly: from workshop and qualified sparring on a specific subject or theme to longer-term courses that provide an actual competence boost. See more here

Our experience tells us that if schools are to succeed in developing new learning- and teaching spaces with new forms of learning, then we have to work towards a change in culture and praxis. We have learned together with our partners and participants that a longer course with a broad representation of staff from the school, works best when such a change has to manifest.

Who does Future Classroom Lab work with?

Future Classroom Lab (FCL) collaborates with a wide range of technology providers to develop new teaching methods, learning spaces and approaches to integrating technology in schools.
